AME are proud to announce that they have recently been recognised for their involvement with the Modec MV11- Swivel Repair Project. The team has received a Highly Commended Award (Facilities & Operations) for the safe removal of swivel assemblies from the turret of the FPSO MV-11.
AME were approached to design and commission a lifting system to enable the Production and Electrical Swivels to be removed from the MV-11, whilst at a safe anchorage close to Dampier Port - only a 12 hour voyage from the Mutineer-Exeter Field.
The design incorporated a simple “A” Frame including luffing rigging, two support hinges and additional hoist winching equipment. The "A" Frame Design was ABS Class approved and installed prior to the facility disconnecting and utilized the existing lifting equipment without the need for any Flame Hot Work.
