AME Pty Ltd were engaged by McDermott Industries Australia (MIA) today to supply a custom built grout hose winch for the upcoming Pluto project. This is the second winch supplied to MIA by AME, the first being supplied in July 2007.
The drive system consists of a piston-type pneumatic motor, high speed fail-safe brake and shaft mounted planetary gear reducer with torque arm. This robust system is safe, simple and easy to maintain in the field. Multiple hoses with varied minimum bend radii can be stored on the reel through the installation and removal of circumferential drum struts.
