AME Pty Ltd

Energy

AME covers all aspects of offshore energy systems, from both renewable and non renewable energy sources.

Most offshore energy systems require a detailed knowledge of offshore engineering and project management fundamentals, and most innovation in this sector relies on expertise from disciplines and materials such as foundation, structural, mechanical, composites, concrete etc and their reliable application to the offshore environment.

Offshore energy for AME means any offshore energy system. Our wide range of experience covers electrical and hydraulic energy systems to power drilling and production vessels through to independent offshore energy such as wind, wave and tidal energy.

Offshore wind farms rely heavily on geotechnics, foundations and innovative anchoring and ballasting. These are areas where AME excels, and along with AME’s international range of very experienced partners is capable of undertaking any offshore energy project in any location.

AME's range of services in the offshore Energy sector includes;

  • Project Management

Any offshore energy project and operation requires meticulous planning, execution and inter-discipline co-ordination. AME’s energy project management experience provides complete management of both Greenfield and Brownfield energy assets from start to finish. Energy assets and equipment, primarily electrical generating equipment must be highly reliable and available, and this requires at times an additional and detailed level of project management.

  • Feasability/Feed

Developing offshore energy assets and equipment requires a detailed knowledge and database of tried and innovative arrangement and solutions. Primary energy systems such as offshore wind farms are heavily reliant on accurate estimating information and first hand knowledge of successful (and unsuccessful) projects in similar conditions (geography, geology, oceanic conditions etc). Integrated energy systems such as power plants for drilling and production vessels rely heavily on inter-discipline co-ordination amongst other critical areas.

  • Engineering

Stand alone or integrated, AME can engineer complete electrical, hydraulic, backup and emergency systems in any offshore environment with individual and hybrid fuel supplies and sources from both renewable and non-renewable sources. Until 2001 where the first commercial offshore wind farms were put into operation, most offshore energy assets were an integral part of a larger offshore system. Nowdays, offshore energy can operate in many different ways; independently and in combination to provide long term, reliable and available energy for public and private use.

  • Fabrication

Depending on size, scope and materials, AME either directly or indirectly fabricates components and integrates multiple systems to form complete energy systems. In an offshore environment, space is at a premium, material selection is critical and reliability is paramount, and AME’s experience from design through to reliable service provides consistent reliability. At times and depending on the requirements, energy system fabrication can be simply integrating a few items of packages equipment.

  • Installation

The best and most useful experience is gained from the installation phase of a project, and is the critical point of project management, engineering and fabrication. Energy systems requirement unique and specialized installation experience and expertise to ensure minimum disruption and maximum availability.

  • Maintenance

The integrity of offshore energy systems relies on systematic maintenance, booth in routine and in campaign. Different energy systems and assets require different maintenance regimes; a gas turbine inherently requires more and different maintenance than an array of solar panels, and although different, both require management, planning and skilled personnel.

  • Shut Downs

Either planned or unplanned, the shutdown of energy systems and assets offshore require special attention to ensure that the safety, integrity and reliability of the complete installation is protected. No energy (power, electrical or hydraulic), is a condition of great concern and requires careful control and planning.io.

  • Inspection

Specialised personnel, equipment and procedures are required for the inspection and testing of energy systems and assets, and inspection can be directly related to maintenance.
